• Image of Potter for paper pots

A tool for making your own paper plant pots. Wrap a strip of newsprint two turns around the upper part. The paper strip should be a little wider (about 10.5-11cm / 3.9-4.3 inches) than the potter and folded into the bottom before it is pressed against the bottom plate. The shape of the bottom plate makes the paper pot fixed and steady. The finished pot it 7 cm / 2.8 inches high and 6 cm / 2.4 inches in diameter.

I have made hundereds of pots with this little tool and used them to plant squash, cabbage, tomatoes, spices, flowers etc., etc. I love the hand made look of the pots and it is so convenient to be able to just put the intire pot into the soil at planting. Plain newsprint is harmless and is eaten by earth bugs within a week.
Design: The Potter is manufactured entirely in beech by Ulrik Mangold in Laholm, Sweden.
